Hong Joo Won (Seo Kang Joon) withstands torture and flatly denies that
Hawi (Lee Yeon Hee) is a Japanese spy and Gwanghae (Cha Seung Won) is
aware of whole situation. The steadfast royalty tears at the King's
heart out, but he announces in a determined attitude that the criminal
will be beheaded obedient to the laws of the land.
When Joo Won is confronted with danger, Hawi turned herself in is
brought back under armed guards. She admits that she is a Korean from
Japan and the King knows her for a long time. Subjects talks in whisper
among themselves and Kang Joo Sun (Jo Sung Ha) smiles while everything
is in confusion.
Heo Gyun (Ahn Nae Sang) delivers Kang In Woo (Han Joo Wan)'s letter to
Gwanghae and the King orders him to find a workman who joined Hawgidogam
at Yoon Do Ha's recommendation.
Kang In Woo (Han Joo Wan) catches the real criminal who runs away in a hurry in front of a gate to the capital city.
Gwanghae becomes mad, throwing a working clothes covered with a lot of sulfur on the floor.
Do Ha is about to run away after the crime has been uncovered,
threatening Joo Sun's wife with a knife when Heo Gyun arrives at Joo
Sun's house in obedience to the royal command. Gyun pretends to calm him
down and makes him stab himself with the knife off his guard. As the
faithful servant falls to the ground, he shouts, "He stabbed himself.
Transfer him to a hospital!"
Kang Joo Sun is riveted to the spot while the King's man throws him a suggestive grin.
Meanwhile, Gwanghae can't down his anger at the news.
Joo Won gets off scot-free thanks to Hawi and In Woo and his father begs humbly for forgiveness.
Hawi nurses him devotedly. In Woo is worried that he and his close
friend will be in love with the same woman looking at Hawi and the
friend's quarrels.
Gwanghae paid a visit to Joo Won's house with medicine bumps into
Princess Jeongmyeong and he expresses her thanks searching her face.
The King says that he lets nothing get in his way to gain his end.
However, Joo Won feels that he is warm-hearted person underneath his
cool exterior.
Meanwhile, Heo Gyun suddenly appears when Joo Sun is about to enter into
a safety house. Joo Sun eyes him warily, but he offers collusion
between them.
When Princess Jeongmyeon found the bracelet gone is searching it in
Hawgidogam, Kim Gae Shi (Kim Yeo Jin) brings word that the King wants to
see her in person.
Queen Inmok (Shin Eun Jung) is flabbergasted when she sees the bracelet
on the wrist of a court lady handing over a bowl of Chinese medicine.
She wails over the bracelet of her daughter looking for the guards who
picked it up.
Gwanghae offers Hawi some of refreshments scrutinizing her disciplined
behavior. The King asks her some private questions and he bets his shirt
on the young man's honesty. Gwanghae draws his sword at the stranger,
"Who are you? You are lying to me. What is your intention in joining
Hawgidogam?"
Princess Jeongmyeon looks straight at him without a word.
