[Drama Recap] EXO Next Door: Episode 10

The episode begins with Chanyeol is digging something from his grandfather’s favorite tree, trying to find his grandpa’s necklace. However, even after digging all night, he is unable to find anything. He ends up getting sick as a result and has to stay in bed.


The next morning, Sehun, Baekhyun, D.O., and Kai are all sitting around the table when Yeon Hee arrives. Baekhyun lets her know that Chanyeol has a cold. Kai asks Yeon Hee if he can ask her something which causes D.O. to look over at them. Kai says that he heard that she likes him the most. D.O. has an unhappy expression while Sehun claps his hands.

Yeon Hee denies by saying not really, and Kai tells her not to lie. Sehun says he knows all about it and Baekhyun says it’s okay for her to tell them. Kai leans over to whisper in Yeon Hee’s ear in order to ask her if the weather is nice. She says that it’s lovely, but since the others, D.O. in particular, wouldn’t have heard the question asked, it sounded like she said she liked Kai.

D.O. has a sour expression on his face, while Kai laughs at the situation. Baekhyun comments that he didn’t tell Kai so that he could tease people. D.O. prevents Kai from getting a piece of food from a plate and tells him to rest up for his night flight. Kai says that he might and that he’s done there anyways. He tells D.O. that it won’t be an easy fight, but to go for it.


Meanwhile, Chanyeol is still sick in bed, and in his sleep he has flashbacks of the past with his grandpa when he was much younger and had also gotten sick after digging and trying to find the necklace. The hint he receives from his grandpa in his dream is the word red. He comments on how his grandpa’s face is red, before it morphs into the present scene with Yeon Hee looking over Chanyeol with her red face. She tries to cool him down with a towel while he’s still asleep.

Baekhyun sees Kai off before he leaves telling him that he should stop in to say bye to Chanyeol. Kai says he’ll be back in 10 days and it is fine not to. He tells Baekhyun to keep him updated on Incheon Gal and the two guys. Baekhyun agrees and they say their goodbyes.

We see a flashback to when Kai snuck up on Yeon Hee to ask her if she is dense. She says that she is usually pretty sharp which causes Kai to ask her if she has ever had a boyfriend. He comes to the conclusion that she could just be dense when it comes to men. He asks her if she can’t sense what’s going on in the house. She doesn’t understand what Kai is hinting at and Kai wonders if he should tell her, but decides that it would be more fun for her not to know.

The next morning, Yeon Hee checks up on Chanyeol again and feels his forehead. D.O. enters the room and Yeon Hee tells him that Chanyeol’s fever is still high and that Chanyeol should sleep it off before going off to get another towel for him. D.O. remains silent and internally says that he is the only one that isn’t close to her before leaving the room.

Meanwhile, Sehun is walking down the street until he runs into Yeon Hee’s brother and they hug and greet each other. As they converse, EXO fangirls spot them, recognizing Sehun which causes them to start to scream. Sehun and Yeon Hee’s brother then run away as fast as they can to get away from the girls chasing them.

As they hide behind a car, Sehun tells Yeon Hee’s brother that if they are caught, he may have to move and might not be able to keep living next door. Yeon Hee’s brother decides to take Sehun’s hat and proposes the plan for him to distract the girls while Sehun runs away. Before Sehun can stop him, he dashes off to lead the girls away.


Back at the EXO house, Yeon Hee is organizing some of the items in the kitchen. She is startled by D.O. coming up behind her, which causes her to drop a plate that shatters on the ground. He tells her to leave it and that he will pick the pieces up, but she tries to help. She ends up getting cuts on her fingers by trying to pick up the pieces and D.O. tells her that he told her that he would do it.

D.O. ends up helping Yeon Hee put bandages on her fingers and tells her to raise both her hands. She ends up raising both of her arms high in the air and D.O. says that it’s her punishment for not listening to him. She asks what, since she couldn’t quite catch what he said, but D.O. is amused. He just tells her that by having her arms raised, it will stop the bleeding faster.


They both laugh, and D.O. asks Yeon Hee if he can talk freely with her. He tells her that he feels like he’s the most distant from her. Yeon Hee disagrees and tells him that she actually feels the most comfortable around him. D.O. ends up asking her who she likes the most, and then asks if he can be the guy she likes the most. Yeon Hee is surprised and just stares into his eyes without giving a response yet.
