[Drama Recap] EXO Next Door Episode: 12

Sehun shows D.O. a childhood picture with Yeon Hee, Gwang Su, and Chanyeol. D.O. recognizes right away that the girl in the picture is Yeon Hee. He comments that she was cute when she was young. Sehun tells him to look at the boy in the picture and asks if he looks familiar. They think that he might be Chanyeol, but when they see him in person, they change their minds.

Chanyeol and Baekhyun are working on a song together. Chanyeol can’t think of anything at the moment and asks if Baekhyun can find another songwriter. Baekhyun tells him to think about how Suho is doing. Suho is not doing so well alone in the hospital. Chanyeol says that he must find his grandpa’s necklace.

Yeon Hee has a dream about Chan’s grandpa and thinks that maybe it’s because she has been spending too much time next door. Chanyeol searches throughout the house to find his grandpa’s necklace. He places his sweater on a coat rack and it opens the door to a secret hidden basement.

Chanyeol goes in and takes a look around. Yeon Hee is cleaning around the house and sees her childhood picture in a laundry basket. She’s certain that it must be here because of Gwang Su and then feels embarrassed about it. She sees Chanyeol’s sweater hanging on the coat rack and takes it with her.

Yeon Hee sees an opening and enters the secret hidden basement. She sees Chanyeol and tries to hide, placing a laundry basket on her head. Chanyeol asks her how long she will keep this up and then she takes off the basket. She asks Chanyeol about what place they are in.

Chanyeol asks Yeon Hee, “What are you staring at? Are you into me?” Yeon Hee tells him not to be stupid and says that it must be the grandpa’s secret hideout when he used to live here. Yeon Hee finds a jumprope and tells Chanyeol that there was a kid who used to live here when they were young.

Every once in a while, Yeon Hee’s face turns red, and back then, the kid gave her the jump-rope. He told her that she should jump rope, so she could tell the others that’s why her face was red. Chanyeol smiles and knows all of this already.

He comments that the kid is a smart six-year-old. Yeon Hee asks him how he knows his age and Chanyeol asks her to guess how he knows. They are going to leave the basement, but realize that they are locked in. Chanyeol gets angry and asks why she brought his sweater in.

Chanyeol holds out his hand to Yeon Hee. She touches it and he asks her to give him her phone, but she doesn’t have it with her. Chanyeol is frustrated and they try to yell to call the EXO members for help. Baekhyun and Sehun are busy playing video games and none of them heard their cry for help.

Yeon Hee and Chanyeol get cold and share a blanket together. Chanyeol gets up and says to Yeon Hee, “I am. . .”
