Hawi (Lee Yeon Hee) is denounced as a Japanese spy. Gwanghae (Cha Seung
Won) senses that Kang Joo Sun (Jo Sung Ha) is involved in the accident
in Hawgidogam and he pulls strings from behind to put the guilt on the
King.
Hong Joo Won (Seo Kang Joon) helps Hawi to escape asking earnestly to
search a way to prove their innocence before he may have had his chips
soon. Hawi visits Kang In Woo (Han Joo Wan) to ask him for help.
Joo Won's father tries to persuade his son in a prison to confess the
King knows everything, but Joo Won denies that Gwanghae was ever
involved with the case.
The King visited him says he is not going to save his life and he will
interrogate the prisoner by himself. Joo Won repeatedly asks the King
not to lose Hawgidogam and Gwanghae is deeply impressed by the man cares
about the country.
The King feels sorry for Joo Won's misfortune as Heo Gyun (Ahn Nae Sang)
is sure that Hwai is not only a cat's-paw of Joo Sun but also the
Japanese spy.
Queen Inmok (Shin Eun Jung) instructs court lady Choi to bring her up to
date on what's happening. The court lady saw a most wanted criminal
posted up on the wall by chance recalls the young man caused disturbance
yesterday on the Queen's doorstep.
Meanwhile, security guards pick up a bracelet which Princess Jeongmyeong dropped around the door.
Joo Sun incites his friend to persuade the son to reveal the truth
saying he can save his life unless he covers up for the King while
pretending he is on the same page with Gwanghae in front of the King who
have passed a sleepless night.
Hawi and In Woo sneak in Hawgidogam and find out the crime was done
deliberately by someone used an unbalanced mixture of sulfur and coal in
a furnace to create a poisonous gas.
Hawi is so upset about sulfur already melted away in the furnace without
leaving any evidence. In Woo is also devastated by the news.
As time is running out, Princess Jeongmyeong seems to promise herself she is going to do something, "I cannot just give up."
