[Drama Recap] EXO Next Door: Episode 9

All of the EXO members get together and greet one another with high fives and hugs before going into hair and makeup to get ready for their photoshoot. Tao and Xiumin have their shots together, before Suho and Kai have theirs together. Sehun brings up about how masculine Kai looks and continues to praise Kai until Chanyeol ends up telling him to stop.

In the waiting room, Baekhyun is singing along to Lay playing on the guitar and after bringing up how Chanyeol seems to be having trouble with his songwriting recently, the conversation shifts to Incheon Gal. Baekhyun talks about how she cleans very well and that they have it good where they are living.

When Chanyeol walks into the room, Xiumin, Lay, Tao, and Chen start asking him if Incheon Gal is pretty and pester him about wanting to meet her before they have to head to the airport. Chanyeol asks why he has to call her over there so Baekhyun asks him why not and whether or not it makes him nervous or makes his heart race.

Chanyeol is a bit flustered but responds that it certainly does not, so the rest of members insist on Chanyeol letting them see her. They chant “Let us see” repeatedly until Chanyeol gives in. We then see Yeon Hee on her phone and on her way to the photoshoot location. When she enters the room, she’s blinded by some strong lighting before she sees some of the EXO members walking towards her.

Lay, Xiumin, Chen, and Tao all approach her and talk about how much they wanted to meet her and comment on how pretty she looks from the back and how cute she looks from the front. Meanwhile Yeon Hee is a bit too overwhelmed to respond as they walk away and her face turns a bit red.

Yeon Hee then sees Chanyeol in the middle of taking his solo shots and slightly smiles while watching him with her face still red. Chanyeol notices that she is watching him. Soon, Kai approaches Yeon Hee and confirms that she is Incheon Gal. He looks at her, then at Chanyeol, before commenting that it must be hectic there and to follow him.

Kai guides Yeon Hee to a waiting room away from where the pictures are being taken and sits with her to strike up a conversation. This causes Chanyeol to wonder where she went and to lose focus a bit because he wanted her to be looking at him. Kai tells Yeon Hee that since she was standing so still he thought that she was a fan. Kai asks her who she was there to see before looking back at Chanyeol.

Meanwhile Chanyeol continues to wonder what Yeon Hee and Kai are talking about before all of the members get called to go and take a group shot. Kai tells Yeon Hee he has to go and to wait where she is. Kai rushes off and D.O. approaches Yeon Hee. She smiles when she sees him and he comments on how hectic it must be there. He asks her what she is holding and she tells him that she was asked to bring it. D.O. makes the connection that it must have been Chanyeol again. He tells her that he’ll give the item to Chanyeol and tells her to wait where she is.

As D.O. rushes to join his other members, one of the photoshoot staff members closes the door to the waiting room which cuts off Yeon Hee’s view of the EXO members. We see the 10 EXO members all smiling and posing together before getting their picture taken.

Back at the EXO house, Chanyeol is in his room thinking back to when Sehun said that the person Yeon Hee likes is Kai and how she is madly in love with him. He recalls the comments about how masculine and good looking Kai is as well as Kai’s interactions with Yeon Hee during their photoshoot. Chanyeol ends up tossing and turning while laying on his pillow.

We see a flashback to when Chanyeol was little with his grandpa and revealed that he broke his necklace. His grandpa told him to find what he had lost and how it is not that far away. Chanyeol is unable to sleep with so many thoughts running through his head so he sits back up on his bed.

Chanyeol is making some tea while glancing at Kai and Yeon Hee drying dishes together. Kai tells her not to be so polite to him so that they can be friends and Yeon Hee is internally happy about how Kai wants to be friendly with her. She tells Kai okay, but Kai notes that she is still so stiff.

Meanwhile Chanyeol grumbles to himself about if Kai learned the art of seduction. Kai glances back at Chanyeol before getting Yeon Hee out of her seat and leading her to the fridge. She internally comments on how handsome Kai is even by the fridge and her face starts turning slightly red. He pulls out something to give to her saying that he bought it on the airplane and how she’ll need it with all of the housework that she has had to do.

She internally freaks out about how all of this is happening to her and thanks him with her face slightly flushed. Kai sneaks a glance back at Chanyeol who is far from pleased at their interactions.
