Do Si suggests to Doo Ri that they start noting which things are theirs, just in case they break up. (Note: Subtitles were not complete, so I’m not actually sure if this is absolutely correct.) Doo Ri is shocked — and hurt — by Do Si’s suggestion, but she spitefully agrees. “Then get off my couch,” she says. “I bought it.” Do Si turns on the TV, saying the TV was his. But the batteries in the remote are mine, counters Doo Ri. The argument escalates until Doo Ri remembers “This whole apartment is mine. I pay the rent.”
Hiding: From those who don’t know, Marriage Plans (or the lack thereof)
Man Goo’s mom calls her daughter announcing a surprise visit to her apartment. Man Goo panics and tells Joon to hide. It almost goes successfully, and Man Goo’s mother even believes her daughter who says “Of course I don’t have a boyfriend!” The mother says the real reason she came to visit her today was to say how Man Goo should go on a marriage date with a certain CEO. Man Goo is disinterested. The mom is about to leave, but then finds Joon. She questions him, like how old he is, whether they’ve been living together.
And then the one question. “So– are you getting married?”
Man Goo looks at Joon expectantly. To her surprise, he stays silent. Man Goo’s face falls. It’s all quite saddening. The song playing in the scene makes it almost worse, if it could even get worse– “Silence- 5 Minutes 50 Seconds”. The mom tells Man Goo to end things. If rumors spread, it’s her loss. Just date only. Man Goo stays there kneeling, probably facing conflicting emotions. I mean, the total lack of commitment from Joon, the sudden “Break up!” she is told to do, and her mother’s disappointment.
Later, Joon apologizes to Man Goo. The thing is, earlier, I didn’t know how to act. Oh, my heart. The song playing right now is titled “It could be like that”. Man Goo doesn’t know whether or not to trust Joon.
Hiding: Yet another mom comes to visit
Do Si’s reaction is a bit different from Joon’s. He doesn’t hide, but changes his clothes. The meeting with Doo Ri’s mom goes alright, until she finds what looks like men’s hair lying on the couch. OMO. And then a package comes to the apartment for Do Si, though the mom thinks that Doo Ri is living alone. The couple says “OH! It’s from Oh DONG Si, who used to live here, but then moved out, but her stuff is still here.”
Hiding: Embarrassment, Feelings
The writers decide to tease us once again with this couple. Joon Jae is sitting in the living room, eating ice cream while searching on his iPad for the earbuds. Takuya wants some ice cream and starts licking the spoon very clean. We suppose he wants some _____ too. Hee. Joon Jae looks at him with an interesting expression too. Takuya does the same motion with a yogurt drink too, and Joon Jae is in bliss. “What is obscenity?” Takuya asks. And then he says that Joon Jae must have an innocent mind.
Next, Joon Jae is cooking dinner, and Takuya says he wants to eat a lot of eggs. So Joon Jae starts cracking a lot of eggs in the bowl, before realizing why Takuya exactly wants a lot of eggs. He’s making an egg tower that looks like a dick. It’s like Takuya is purposefully taunting Joon Jae to confess with all his actions!
He also begins using a skin roller-thing to massage his skin, and someone’s mind is clearly in the gutter. xD
Hiding: Distaste
For once, Do Si cooks for Doo Ri, instead of the other way around. It’s a pretty cute gesture, except he is so confused as towards where everything is in the kitchen. The potato peeler? The gloves? Each time Doo Ri has to get the materials for him, her patience wearing down with each subsequent ask.
Do Si finally starts cooking, and Doo Ri watches him. She is disgusted. And for good reason. He’s putting his hands in his pants, then using those same unwashed hands to handle the carrots. He wipes his nose before touching the peppers. He spills carrot slices on the floor, which he picks up and then wipes them on his pants before placing it back onto the cutting board. He even finds some mysterious things in the soup and then just plucks it out as if they’re not much. OH. MY GOSH. I would not be able to drink that soup.
He feeds it to a very unwilling Doo Ri. She doesn’t tell him it’s disgusting, probably to save his face (and as a little gratitude for him making dinner). But she says “I have an upset stomach.” To her dismay, he says “This soup is great for upset stomachs!” Poor Doo Ri… her face illustrates her grossed-out-ness.
Hiding: Pre-relationship Habits
The food couple is watching some TV When Seol Eun brings out her food stash. Hwan Jong is a bit concerned, saying that there are quite a few calories in all the junk food she’s eating. Seol Eun decides to weigh herself. At first, the scale reads 68 kg, but that’s because Hwan Jong is stepping on it (he doesn’t want Seol Eun to keep eating junk food). But as he leaves, Seol Eun reweighs herself and eventually is satisfied with the lower number (59.9 kg).
Hiding: Not-so-subtly suggesting “I’m wealthier than you”
One of Man Goo’s friends comes to visit. Joon doesn’t like the guy. Neither do I. The guy tries to assert his wealth by placing his wallet, then his car keys, on the table. He scrolls through his phone (and he holds another phone in the same hand). The guy tries to make Joon feel bad about himself, such as asking his age, and then when Joon can’t open a juice bottle cap, he opens it easily and says “Wow, that came off easily”.
When Man Goo excuses herself, Joon turns on the TV and scrolls through the channels. The guy tries to take the remote from him, but Joon doesn’t let go. It turns into a power struggle. Man Goo comes back, so Joon lets go of the remote, which hits the guy’s forehead and causes it to bruise.
The guy leaves, saying he’ll be back after a while. Joon is happy.
Later that night:
Noona, you’ll wait for me until I became successful, right? And with that silent confession, Joon snuggles in bed next to Man Goo.
