Gwanghae became aware that Heo Gyun (Ahn Nae-sang) tried to make him fall into a trap. Because Heo Gyun (Ahn Nae-sang) met Hwa-yi, it made Gwanghae believe Heo Gyun and Hwa-yi together was planning to commit the treason. As he also found out Hwa-yi was keeping Princess Jeongmyeiong's token, he started questioning about her identity.
At the order to capture Hwa-yi, troops charged into Kang In-woo (Han Juwan)'s house. However, Hwa-yi was not there because Hong Joo-won (Seo Kang-joon) could hide her at a safe place early enough.
Hwa-yi later could obtain women's clothes thanks to Joo-won. She told him, "My name is not Hwa-yi. I wanted to be Hwa-yi to you forever. But I can't do it any longer". And then she revealed her true identity to him.
She then went to Gwanghae and revealed everything related to her identity as Hwa-yi was all lie. She finally said, "I am Jeong Myeong-hee". Her dangerous choice to reveal her true identity raised the tension of the storyline.
Hawi (Lee Yeon Hee) denies that she is Princess Jeongmyeong, but Kang In
Woo (Han Joo Wan) is convinced that she is the Princess. Hong Joo Won
(Seo Kang Joon) grips Hawi rushing out with tears in her eyes and asks
her what happened, but she tears herself from him. In Woo also doesn't
tell him about her identity saying he doesn't know if he can handle it
because he is the man of Gwanghae (Cha Seung Won). The old friend asks
him what he will do if Hawi is a political opponent of the King and Joo
Won cannot answer his question.
Jeongmyeong hastens to the scene where Queen Inmok (Shin Eun Jung) is
caught by royal guards. In Woo followed close behind stops her from
revealing her identity saying he will do anything to keep her. He
harbours her in a gisaeng house where is his favorite hangouts.
Gwanghae is furious at the conspiracy and Heo Gyun (Ahn Nae Sang)
agitates for his violent behavior. Heo Gyun recalls his friends who were
killed for helping Prince Yeongchang to the throne. He flattered Yi
Icheom (Jung Woong In) to survive and he committed himself to avenging
what Gwanghae had done to them. He has Kang Joo Sun (Jo Sung Ha) to
bribe royal families and senior statesmen with money to make the King
depose the mother of Jeongmyeong.
Yi Icheom tells Kim Gae Shi (Kim Yeo Jin) that the conspiracy is
manipulated by someone. The King suspects that Heo Gyun has enticed him
into a trap when he hears of the fact.
Gwanghae pays a visit to Inmok to button down the truth and he gets to
know that she left the house because of the beads of the Princess.
Yi Icheom tells the King Heo Gyun met not Kang Joo Sun but the sulfur
craftsman and Gwanghae orders him to find Hawi and the King also leaves
the palace to meet the worker.
Meanwhile, Hawi overhears that the betrayer wants to eliminate not only her mother but also her stepbrother. In Woo and some senior statesmen meet secretly and agree to against to depose Queen Inmok.
