[Drama Recap] EXO Next Door: Episode 16 (Final)

Chanyeol runs to the playground and finds Yeon Hee sitting down. He tells her that he knows he is late and asks if she is mad. Yeon Hee replies that she’s not really mad and that her lips froze. Chanyeol laughs and places his hands on her face.

D.O thinks about his encounter with Yeon Hee at the playground. He shows up and asks Yeon Hee what she is doing there. She tells him that she’s waiting for Chan and that it has been four hours. He tells her that she should go home if he doesn’t show up since she’s freezing.

Yeon Hee doesn’t think that Chanyeol will stand her up. She tells D.O. that she will keep waiting for Chanyeol. D.O. goes home and tells Chanyeol about this. Chanyeol rushes over to Yeon Hee.

Yeon Hee texts D.O. a thank you message and tells him that Chanyeol arrived. D.O. thinks that he is an idiot and shouldn’t ask a girl to be his friend again, because he liked Yeon Hee. Yeon Hee is back home and feels so happy about her relationship with Chanyeol.

Chanyeol looks at Yeon Hee while she’s cleaning EXO’s house. He receives a phone call that EXO is leaving sooner than expected. Chanyeol tells Yeon Hee that she doesn’t have to come to their house anymore and that she’s fired. He tells her that Incheon Gal’s mission is not over yet.

Chanyeol, Baekhyun, D.O., and Sehun are ready to leave in their van. Gwang Su chases them down the street. He calls out for Sehun with a bag of coffee beans in his hand. The van stops.

Sehun and Gwang Su run towards each other and hug. Gwang Su hands Sehun the coffee beans and tells him to drink it on the plane. They say their goodbyes to one another. Sehun gives Gwang Su a wooden dummy as a gift for him to practice his martial arts.

Chanyeol told Yeon Hee to bring him soup at the crack of dawn. She walks to his house and sees that it’s empty. She notices that he left behind a guitar case. She opens it and her pendant, a music player, headphones, and a letter are inside the case. She reads the letter: “If you take care of this pendant, you’ll repel any bad luck and we will meet again soon.”

6 months later, Yeon Hee is still waiting for Chanyeol. Her mom tells her to clean the house for the neighbors next door. She goes to clean the house and sees rice cakes on the table. She opens the box and eats a rice cake. Someone hands her a bottle of water. It’s EXO! They smile at her and say, “Hi Incheon Gal.” She smiles back at them and is excited that EXO lives next door.
