Yi Deok Hyeong (Lee Sung Min) gives honest advice, "Your Highness, you
know that Prince Yeongchang is branded as a traitor. Please understand
mind!"
But Gwanghae (Cha Seung Won) ignores the counsel of his servant
and Queen Inmok (Shin Eun Jung)'s father is decapitated and exposed his
head.
Princess Jeongmyeong (Jung Chan Bi) falls down to the ground, she begs
for her brother's life. "Your Highness. Please save him!" she wails. The
king's face is filled with sadness.
Naeuiwon(a palace pharmacy during Joseon dynasty) diary is found in Deok
Hyeong's house where the servant being removed from office packs for
moving. He pays a court physician visit and he finds out the late king
was poisoned to death.
Kim Gae Shi (Kim Yeo Jin) strongly urges that Gwanghae must kill not only Prince Yeongchang but also Queen Inmok and Princess Jeongmyeong to nip it in the bud before it spreads again.
"I don't believe in a prophecy. I
won't defile the royal throne with blood. I gave a pledge to my sister."
Gwanghae represses anger.
"Your future depends on the choices you will soon make. Which will you have? A man or the king?" she asks.
In Injeongjeon, a sheep's dead body without horn and tail is found. The
King tremble s with rage reading a letter written that Gwanghae is not
owner of the thorn according to prophecy of Nam Sa Go.
Yi ICheom (Jung Woong In) and palace guards ransack the house of Hong Joo Won (Yoon Chan Young) and find out the real prophetic writings of the predictor.
The King's gentleman examines the
Queen, "You are the mother who will see your son decapitated. Where did
you get this document?" threatening her.
"What did you say? Is this the paper of Nam So Go?" the Queen's eyes becomes big.
Yi ICheom persuades the King to eliminate the source of trouble before the rumor spreads by killing the Prince.
At the moment, Gae Si tortures a palace fortune-teller Sureongae.
Queen Inmok tries to send Jeongmyeong
far away to save her with tears in her eyes, "Leave as far away as
possible and live hiding until I find you. The King will kill you
someday. I heard that you are a person of noble birth to go far. Please
survive! Don't forget Yeongchang! Save your brother's life and resolve
my deep sorrow." giving her the predictor's bracelet.
Meanwhile, Gae Shi gets wise with what the Queen is doing and meets Yi ICheom.
"The person in the paper is not Yeongchang but Jeongmyeong. Never miss
her. You should finish her off when you find her." she speaks with
finality.
The Princess dressed up like a man and her servants try to run away but
they caught by palace guard. Yi Deok Hyeong fights bravely with Yi
ICheom and his subordinates to buy time for Hong Joo Won and Kang In Woo
hide the Princess.
"Peace be with you. Don't forget my name. I will certainly find you. I
will protect you and your brother." Joo Won says goodbye to lure the
enemy into a trap for the princess' safe escape.
"What did you say?" the King shouts.
"I said that you will hear of Yeongchang's death soon. And you will also hear that Jeongmyeong's
death on the run from the palace. The girl is the person of the
document and she will squeeze your windpipe if you keep her in life." Gae Shi calmly answers.
Gwanghae devastated by the news is outraged and points a sword at the faithful servant.
Jeongmyeong and a court lady Choi arrives at a ferry. The court lady
lets the Princess on board alone and she is standing there with
gunpowder from another ship laden with it.
She explodes gunpowder when Yi ICheom and the other guards get nearer to the ferry. The Princess wails miserably over the shocking scene.
