[Drama Recap] EXO Next Door : Episode 5

The drama starts off with an interview with an older Yeon Hee – who is homeless. The interviewer asks how long has she been staying here and she answers that it has been quite a while. She warns him of three things he should be careful of – binoculars, cockroaches and universal stars. She chases him away when he probes her to give an example.

Turns out Yeon Hee was having a cold and running a fever. Mom tells her to eat up, but seeing she doesn’t have any appetite, she tells her to rest and she will cook porridge.

Chanyeol and D.O constantly stares at Yeon Hee’s window.
Chanyeol asks why is Yeon Hee is still not here yet, and D.O says that maybe she was scared from the day before.

Baekhyun asks D.O what is he worrying about and to tell him about it. D.O says it’s nothing.
Sehun shakes his head and asks them if they want him and Baekhyun to believe that. Sehun asks why they keep staring at the house.

Chanyeol denies and Sehun says that Chanyeol probably felt guilty from what he said the day before.
Baekhyun asks if they want him to call her, and all of them look at him.
He finishes off his sentence with “is what I would say, but I don’t have her number.”


Sehun says he does and everyone turn to look at him. He explains that he doesn’t exactly have her number, but he is friends with her brother and he could call him and ask.


Yeon Hee’s brother dramatically tell Sehun that she got a cold. Sehun asks him if he always speaks in that manner and why he doesn’t face Sehun while speaking.
Her brother cuts him off and tells him to mind his manners. He also mentions that they should dispose of any thoughts towards Yeon Hee as Yeon Hee has called them ugly ass.

Sehun returns and tells the rest that Yeon Hee must have been really sick that she got confused with them being ugly ass – but he adds on that he thinks the brother is more sick.


Baekhyun says that Yeon Hee might have become ill because of Chanyeol, and Chanyeol asks why is it because of him.

Yeon Hee lays on bed thinking of D.O and her heart started pounding.
She then thinks of Chanyeol and her heart beats even faster.

Flashback to what happened at the end of Episode 4. Chanyeol asked if Yeon Hee doesn’t know who he is. She looks at him and says, exo?
Chanyeol, in charge of flame? Chanyeol tells her to forget it. Yeon Hee wonders what is the correct answer.

Chanyeol browse through the net to look for cold remedies and tries to make honey water. He accidentally pours the hot water on his hand and gets irritated, so he decided to forget about it.

D.O sits alone in the van, thinking about what happen with Yeon Hee.
He had offered to call an ambulance, but Yeon Hee says that she is not sick – she is just embarrassed.
She started crying and D.O apologizes again. Yeon Hee apologizes and mentions that it has been three years since she was this red.
Yeon Hee uses the apron to blow her nose.

D.O smiles thinking about it and stops by to get Yeon Hee a drink for her cold and leaves a note.
Yeon Hee smiles to herself.

Yeon Hee’s fever is gone, and she decides to resume work as she doesn’t want to quit with them thinking that she’s weird.
She cleans Chanyeol’s room and he walks in, closing the door.
He asks why didn’t she tell him that she was there to clean and wasn’t a stalker. He continues to ask on why is she back and if she needed money.

Yeon Hee turns to leave, but Chanyeol grabs her hand and apologizes for being assuming and being harsh. He tells her to keep coming to work and he wouldn’t bother her.

He leaves the room and stands outside the door. Yeon Hee talks to herself inside the room – saying that she came back because she didn’t want to run away and she wasn’t a stalker. She says that even though they don’t have to know or care, but she has a name too and that her name is – before she finishes it off – Chanyeol who was hearing from outside says he knows her name.

He opens the door and says that he knows her name. Ji Yeon Hee.THE END
