"Falsify" Episodes 31-32 Final recap

It has been a long journey for our heroes and their friends, but this is the end of the path they have chosen and the time has come for punishments to reign supreme in "Falsify". Another secret ally is revealed and several lives end, but the series maintains its usual realistic approach when contemplating the troubles of the world. This means that our heroes will always have more work ahead.
Our Tattoo Man finally has a name and Kim  Jin-woo's (Kang Shin-hyo) story comes to the same end as all of our villains, but I strongly feel that the Faith Center part of the plot should have had more to it. All this talk of super soldiers and training, the fact that he had behavioral problems due to abuse when Min Ha-joon did not and more has not been thoroughly explored.

There are bits and pieces of several subplots that I wish we had seen more on, but I also cannot fault the series too much, given its choice of a somewhat open ending. Life moves on, villains always run and some are untouchable through the layers of scapegoats they keep around them. Perhaps the creators were not only considering the message of this decision, but a practical use as well. The series has done well enough and second seasons do occasionally happen nowadays.
The important thing is that the drama provides closure for all the things which personally matter to the characters and therefore the viewers. Moo-yeong (Namgoong Min) finds his brother's killer, clears his name and finds his own calling next to Seok-min (Yoo Joon-sang) while the latter atones for his original refusal to consider the truth outside of his own misfortunes. So-ra (Eom Ji-won) gains back her position and the validation of her principles while at the same time having learned that fighting against rules made to silence you sometimes requires unfair play.

Said unfair play has been well delivered by our villains. I feel that Jo Yeong-gi's (Ryu Seung-soo) character has been a case of wasted potential, but Nam Kang-myeong (Lee Won-jong) is an enjoyable later addition and of course I have to commend Moon Sung-keun for his work with Goo Tae-won. His character required a lot of subtlety and a lesser actor would have made him incredibly boring.
While there are certainly parts which could have been done better, "Falsify" delivers what it promises and more; what starts off as a run of the mill revenge series takes on its own identity as a fight for justice, rather than just personal grievances and gain. While the cast certainly helped with the nuanced portrayals of their characters, this is an overall solid series which kept me entertained.
"Falsify" is directed by Lee Jeong-heum, written by Kim Hyeon-jeong-IV and features Namgoong Min, Yoo Joon-sang, Eom Ji-won and Moon Sung-keun.
