Seo Ji-soo tried to speak to the returned Seo Ji-an (Shin Hye-sun), but Ji-an avoided her. Their whole lives Ji-an had thought they were sisters, but they weren't. Ji-an said that they were strangers, which disappointed Ji-soo.
Ji-soo returned home with snacks when her mother, Noh Myeong-hee (Na Young-hee), pointed out the discrimination that Ji-soo had faced compared to Ji-an. But Ji-soo defended her childhood situation by pointing out that she was not a good student like Ji-an. "My mother never compared us to anything. She never scolded me for getting grades lower than her. She bought me more clothes than her and she treated me better than Ji-an". Ji-soo began to cry as she wondered why her mother had treated her that way. Perhaps only because she wasn't her biological daughter. Noh Myeong-hee had nothing to say.
