"The Temperature of Love" episodes 39 - 40 (final) recap

"The Temperature of Love" has ended. It is based on an original novel that held promise, but the drama ended with disappointing results.
However, final episode of the SBS drama ended on a happy note with the marriage of Jeong-seon (Yang Se-jong) and Hyeon-soo (Seo Hyun-jin).
Jeong-seon was grateful to Hyeon-soo for accepting Yeong-mi (Lee Mi-sook). Three months later, Hyeon-soo managed to write a popular novel called "Nice Soup". Hyeon-soo's novel made it to an Asian awards ceremony and Hong-ah (Jo Bo-ah) also made a big hit with her debut piece. Jeong-woo's entertainment company was on a roll.
Hyeon-soo stayed over at Jeong-seon's house after the celebration party. They were also trying make room for Joon-ha (Ji Il-joo) and Kyeong (Lee Cho-hee).
Jeong-seon asked Hyeon-soo what she thought about moving in with him to save time. He also complained that Hyeon-soo was too busy to hang out with him now that her work was going into filming.
Hyeon-soo said she didn't want a wedding. She just wanted a quiet dinner with family and Jeong-seon said, "Do as you please. I just want to live with you".
Later, Jeong-seon and Hyeon-soo invited both families and close friends for a quiet dinner. To their surprised, but happy guests, they announced their upcoming nuptuals.

"Witch's Court" episode 14 recap

On the latest episode of the KBS 2TV drama "Witch's Court", Ma Yi-deum (Jung Ryeo-won) slowly opened up to Yeo Jin-wook (Yoon Hyun-min).
Yeo Jin-wook and Ma Yi-deum dug up the dirt on Kingdom to target Jo Gap-soo (Jun Kwang-ryul). However, Jo Gap-soo had the police on his side. Yeo Jin-wook had conducted a search and seizure was punished with a 3-month suspension. "I am going to make the person who did that to your mother pay", he promised to which Ma Yi-deum repied, "I am not going to stop you, although you wouldn't listen". Yeo Jin-wook told her to admit that they were now on the same side.
Ma Yi-deum refused to share information about Jo Gap-soo's wife who was sick in the hospital. Yeo Jin-wook stopped his car and said, "If you don't share information then I won't share this car". In the end, Ma Yi-deum told him what she knew. Baek Min-ho (Kim Kwon) gave them some of Baek Sang-ho's (Heo Sung-tae) notes and asked them to reveal the truth about his brother's death first.
In the end, Ma Yi-deum and Yeo Jin-wook had to dig for the truth by stealing records of Jo Gap-soo's record of investigation from Min Ji-sook's (Kim Yeo-jin's) office. They noticed that the evidence from the location of death, a pen, was not the same and met up with Detective Choi, a friend from Baek Sang-ho's cop days. The detective gave them the pen with Jo Gap-soo's prints on it and they finally had evidence of Jo Gap-soo's crime. At the end of the episode, Jo Gap-soo found out that Gwak Yeong-sil (Lee Il-hwa) was alive and threatened her.

"This Life Is Our First Life" Episode 15 recap

Jeong-min (played by Lee Chung-ah) is Se-hee's ex-girlfriend. She's also Ji-ho's career savior, having taken it upon herself to resolve the unforunate circumstances of Ji-ho's last writing job personally. The sheer goofy elaborateness of this coincidence, along with the obvious feminist undertones, are reminiscent of screenwriter Yoon Nan-joong's previous drama "Hogu's Love"- although I may have been primed to notice this due to the appearance of a couple of easter eggs referencing that work.
Honestly, though, I have mentally compared "This Life Is Our First Life" to "Hogu's Love" in the past for exactly those reasons. Luckily "This Life Is Our First Life" has consistently been a superior piece of work because the overall production has far more holistic design. Observe how two of the three plotlines culminate in violent revenge against a sexual harasser, in wildly differing contexts. Is this wish fulfillment? Well...yeah, and that bit made me a bit uncomfortable, considering that one of them, at least, appeared to understand that his actions were inappropriate.
But the overall comparison is still useful because it lets us see how different people, or different relationships, will react to similar problems with a radically different outlook on what is the proper reaction. Se-hee's actions in general confound Jeong-min, who never knew him to act like that. Then again, even we have found Se-hee's violent outbursts out of character, and that's the whole point. Se-hee has limits that are surprisingly easy to exceed considering that, at Jeong-min's prompting, he has been repressing himself emotionally.
Now Soo-ji, she's been able to repress herself emotionally on her own without any help from anyone else. That's why it's legitimately really cute to watch her take a different approach to harassment than usual, and come back sincerely giddy and happy to Song-goo. Apparently, it's more satisfying for Soo-ji to act like she has self-worth than it is for her to be cool and well-liked. Who could have guessed?
Then in the background we have Ho-rang and Won-seok breaking up with a surprisingly great deal of sincerity. They both have plausible love interests, even as everything about the break-up screams that their problems are entirely a result of their being awful communicators. Ho-rang in particular has a very frustrating scene where she explicitly talks about the abstract concept of marriage with her new paramour. It never once occurs to Ho-rang that her situation with Won-seok is largely a consequence of their mutually failing to explain what exactly they even want.

"Boy and Girl From the 20th Century" Episodes 27-28 recap

Ho-seong (played by Kim Jung-hwa) is Jin-jin's estranged sister, and apparently the artist behind all those pictures for whom Jin-jin has been looking for a source. Ho-seong's character is another case where I've been left wondering, has there ever been any mention that Jin-jin had a sister until literally the moment she appears? Because I certainly can't remember any, which is odd considering that finding her sister is the closest thing Jin-jin has had to ongoing motivation.
It also gives some urgency to the whole matter of their mother needing eye surgery, which up until now had seemed like a very unnecessarily overdramatic storyline. But then again Mi-kyeong has been deliberately hiding this information from Jin-jin, so it's not like this would be relevant context for Jin-jin's search. Ji-won is the guy who has to set everything in order, since of all the characters, he is the one with the most complete information.
Shoot, forget the characters, Ji-won knows more than even I do, since in addition to knowing that Jin-jin had a sister, he's also the only one who knows anything about So-ni. Incidentally, So-ni remains a cipher. It's not clear whether the overtures he makes toward quitting the entertainment industry are made of humility or misguided nobility. Bear in mind that since we don't really know what So-ni's job actually is, it's a little difficult to tell whether or not he's any good at it.
"Boy and Girl From the 20th Century" overall is just these little fragments. There's never enough context for the more serious scenes to have any dramatic impact. Moreover, the few situations the main characters do get into are so similar to one another there's surprisingly little variety in the outcomes. So Jin-jin and Ji-won look cute when they're together in a lovey-dovey manner. Pleasant as those scenes are, they're not really much to hang an entire narrative story on.
This is especially true since there's surprisingly little difference in character interactions before or after their getting together as a couple. I always thought that Ah-reum and Woo-seong were acting like they were dating even when they were not, and now that they're actually a couple, that behavior is unchanged plus or minus a kiss. The scene where Ah-reum's mom interrogates her about the new boyfriend is the main interesting twist we've gotten there lately- but as is the cases with most of the interesting scenes in this drama, it frustratingly ends far too quickly.

"The Temperature of Love" episodes 37 - 38 recap

Seo Hyun-jin and Yang Se-jong reunited while Kim Jae-wook let her go.
On the latest episode of the SBS drama "The Temperature of Love", Lee Hyeon-soo (Seo Hyun-jin) and On Jeong-seon (Yang Se-jong) got back together again.
Previously, Jeong-seon had been offered a position as head chef in a restaurant in Hong Kong but on the way to the airport, he kept thinking about Hyeon-soo and ended up turning back. They finally met and shared a deep kiss.
Hyeon-soo said, "I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to see you again. Are you not going to Hong Kong anymore?" Jeong-seon answered, "If you tell me not to go, then I won't". Hyeon-soo held onto him and he gave up going to Hong Kong.
They went on a date. Jeong-seon said, "I realized I might lose the most important thing in my life if I left now. I don't want to say goodbye again".
Park Jeong-woo (Kim Jae-wook) who noticed they got back together, had a hard time dealing with it. He thought about the first time he met Hyeon-soo and regretted not being more progressive. Hyeon-soo felt bad for Jeong-woo but in the end, he let her go.

"Witch's Court" episode 13 recap

Jung Ryeo-won appealed her beauty to Park Doo-sik but failed.
On the latest episode of the KBS 2TV drama "Witch's Court", Yi-deum and Ji-sook found out where Gap-soo hangs out. A woman named Yeon-hee, the sister of a woman who was used by Gap-soo for sexual services, helped Ji-soo.
Yeon-hee pretended to be another sexual service giver to Gap-soo and recorded everything. In the middle of that, she learned that one of his bodyguards had the video regarding Min-ho.
Yi-deum said, "I have a knack for seducing men" and put on heavy make-up to 'seduce' this bodyguard. However, he thought of her as a stalker and edged away from her.
Just then, Yeon-hee appeared and was friendly to the bodyguard. She smiled coyly at him and said, "I have always liked you" and he fell for her.

"Black" Episode 12 recap

For all the teasing about consequences that "Black" has taken its sweet time to deliver, it sure is fast with getting to it after the latest warning. The reality of her meddling dawns on Ha-ram as she realizes the identity of the man she has saved while Black deals with his newfound sympathy. The past mysteries boil closer to the surface than ever, as Gwang-gyeon and Man-soo get on the case.
I can see possible hints of the extension curse in episode twelve, but I can definitely not call it slow, as the series gets back into high gear when it comes to revelations. "Black" has been a pause-and-rewind type of story, but it sometimes goes too fast for its own good and for audience retention. I welcome the change from padded, empty plots, but so much happens in this episode and I need a moment.
Ha-ram possibly being stabbed by Young-choonLeo analyzing CCTV footage
Most important right now is Ha-ram's (Go Ara) fate. Her capsule was opened before, but perhaps it does not count if not opened by a Reaper. The question is, does it have to be opened by the one assigned to her? Is there precedent for this? If not, perhaps we are about to find out what happens when a soul goes unclaimed. Ha-ram cannot be dead yet, but she can very well be undead; unable to move on until 444 (Song Seung-heon/Kim Tae-woo) returns.
However, we do not even know if this is due to the capsule at all. If Ha-ram is the child of a Reaper, she may have other skills. I have also wondered if this is the case with Leo (Kim Jae-young). He warns Lee  Mi-so to be careful, yet again exhibiting foresight. He also survived overdosing in the hotel and does not seem concerned over his well-being at all. If these are hints to his nature, perhaps it includes the perk, or curse, of invincibility.
Ji-soo hearing about the hit-and-runJoon's mom finding the smoke stick
This means that the series will have to start becoming more focused on the supernatural elements and it is about time that it does. As we wait for that, we have a moment to decipher who is lying and why over Joon's (Lee Hyo-je) fate, although perhaps "BT" knows it the best. There are countless of series which seem to hope that viewers have forgotten previously delivered information when they change things up, but "Black" has been quite consistent.
I believe its opening scene is accurate and so is the vision of Joon's ghost soaking wet. My guess is that Moo-gang's (Choi Seung-hoon) heart failed him during the chase and that it was taken from a possibly injured Joon at 4:44 AM, 24 minutes after the hit-and-run. Seung-cheol (Lee Joon-seo) must have been the replacement. Far-fetched, but I am open to anything in a series about a psychic and a Reaper.
"Black" is directed by Kim Hong-seon-I, written by Choi Ran-I and features Song Seung-heon, Go Ara, Lee El and Kim Dong-jun.
